Plot :

OK. First there's something I have to be honest about before you read this. I'm a guy. I like guy movies. Robots, Aliens, Guns. Things blowing up. Zombies I love that stuff. I'm not a romantic comedy kind of person. I've seen a few. I'm not crazy about them. If I were forced to name my favorite romantic comedy it would probably be Goodfellas. There was some, albeit brief, romance in it, and Joe Pesci was very funny in it. It's a romantic comedy. Kind of. So last night I find myself in a movie theater, with my wife, obediently watching 'What's Your Number'. And sadly I have to admit I loved it. I swear I tried not to but I couldn't help it. Anna Faris is cute, she's funny, she's sexy and you can't help but want it all to work out for her. Chris Evans is funny, extremely likable, and I guess if you're female you might like the fact that he's permanently semi-naked. The script is fast-paced and It made me laugh. The director nails the chemistry between the two of them in such a way that makes it impossible not to get emotionally involved. The production values are far above any similar budgeted movie that I have ever seen with crisp cinematography, energetic camera work and color palettes that seamlessly blend costume and scenery. And with Oliver Stone's Editor responsible for the final cut, there is an energy to the film that will drag you along, kicking and screaming if necessary. In fact, the only thing that would have improved it would have been a cocaine-fuelled Joe Pesci with a huge kitchen knife ands a body bag in the trunk. But you can't have everything. Would I recommend it to my female friends? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to my male friends? Of course I wouldn't. They would think I had gone mad. But hopefully they will go and see it regardless. Alone on a Sunday morning if necessary. No-one needs to know. I can guarantee they'll have a smile on their face for the rest of the day.

Johnny English is back! The film kicks off swiftly indeed, with English being retrained for service. If there is one impressive thing, the pacing is spot on. Whilst the first film lent more towards witty dialog, Reborn relies more on visual gags. Standout sequences include English on a gadget powered wheelchair racing down the streets of London, along with the majority of action scenes. The chair gag in Mi7 is also most welcome. The music composer must be commended for a rousing score, frequently referencing the Johnny English Theme, particularly during the splendid opening titles sequence. The cast is solid, particularly Rosamund Pike. Whilst Ben Miller does not appear unfortunately, Daniel Kaluuya does an average job of replacing the sidekick role as Agent Tucker. The other performances are pretty spot on.

Overall Oliver Parker and Rowan Atkinson have made a fun, entertaining film, barely missing the heights of the first adventure. Stay for the after credits scene!

Kevin Hart has risen from underground sensation to a mainstream comedian with a massively successful tour that rivals that of Eddie Murphy's conquering of the 80s. In the midst of his tour they decided to make a film out of it. I strongly believe that it wasn't originally planned at the start of the tour because of the way the film turned out. Yes it was funny but it was a very disorganized film that prevented itself from being one of the better stand-up films—even though it was leagues under classics like Eddie Murphy's Raw and Richard Pryor's Live on the Sunset Strip. A lot of disjointed moments limited the rate of laughs from the audience to a point that the ending became quite sour. However, this is a must-see for Kevin Hart fans. For others, you won't be converted to a fan from this material.

Laugh at My Pain consists of three acts: the first act being about Kevin Hart's tour of Philadelphia to the audience, the second act being his stand-up performance in Cali, and the final act being a random skit about robbing a bank. I did not make that up. Let's now talk about Kevin Hart. Kevin Hart's comedy comes at the style of Bernie Mac, not afraid of humiliating himself while telling a plethora of amusing (and sometimes exaggerated) stories about his upbringings and his lifestyle. He is one of the better modern-day comedians, but still lacks the variety, stamina, and the slick substance of Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle.

His stand-up here was definitely the best part of the movie, far more entertaining than the slightly egotistical but heartfelt intro in Philly, and much funnier than the awful skit that finishes the film. His stand-up routine isn't his best, but still delivers. He talks a lot about his dysfunctional family (including an excellent bit about his infamous uncle that's a staple in his comedy), his sex life and impending divorce, and about financial lifestyle. The one evolution you'll see here when compared to his past work is that he likes to run his jokes now, constantly repeating some of them throughout the bits. The audience I was watching the movie with was eating up this performance; they loved every second of it. Kevin Hart fans will not be disappointed.

And then there's the final third of the flick. Kevin Hart's stamina isn't as long as Bill Cosby, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and not even the likes of Dane Cook. By stamina I mean length of his actual stand-up. While Bill Cosby and Eddie Murphy (back in the day) can easily pull almost 2 hours of bits in one sitting, Hart doesn't have that ability----yet. And because of this, he had to throw in something extra so the movie doesn't feel like an extended television episode. The final skit however was absolute garbage. First off the audience Hart appeals to will most likely not catch the references to Tarantino and Michael Mann filmmaking. Second off, it broke the entire pace of the movie. Third off, t was unnecessary and just all-around not funny. I strongly suggest walking out after his stand-up part finished so you can walk away from the theater with a smile and not a frown.

Bottom Line: Kevin Hart would have delivered a better movie if he extended his comedy and not try to become a Chappelle (his show was a hilarious underground phenomenon) or Rock by providing a skit. Skits are leagues different from stand-up and unless you have a true grasp on how to time your humor in these things, you are better off not performing any of them. Kevin hart's brand of humor is conventional, not too edgy or underground (like George Carlin) and will appeal to most audiences as long as you can tolerate the language. But if you are expecting a stand-up comedy classic like those we saw in the 70s and 80s, then you will be disappointed. This film isn't a game-changer, but will entertain plenty, especially in the middle bulk.

Swardson's film have become a sandwich recipe - regular ingredients like opening solo song, two heroines, flashback and villains from Hollywood spread properly between the slices of bread.

The story is so very clichéd and predictable only this time it deals with the factions. As a leader of faction, Swardson is portrayed as a modern day pornstar who is ready to sacrifice anything for the welfare of the people. The writer has taken far too much leniency thinking that they are penning for 70's/ 80's audience.

For some strange reason every Swardson movie has heroines drooling over him. Why? The hero becoming a porn star just because hhis parents were artist - is simple bad digestion.

Comedy track could have been improvised. Sandler is over-exposing himself. And Tom Brady is already over-exposed.

Sandler makes a good cameo appearance.

Christina Ricci is pretty and coy. Miriam Flynn must have found acting easy as she was imitating Naghma in Gharana Mogudu. And apart from these two you have Meredith Giangrande (okay), Darrin Lackey and Raza Murad from Bollywood.

As from any Swardson movies, editings are good.

I presume that the fans of Bucky Lawson always order old wine in new bottle every time and that is precisely what is served here, yet again.

Actors Miguel Rodarte and Gerardo Taracena told Efe that their new film, "Saving Private Perez," is based on an option open to many Mexicans coming to the United States in search of a better life - doing military service to obtain U.S. citizenship.

Rodarte plays Julian Perez, who goes to Iraq to rescue younger brother Juan, a private in the U.S. Army that he joined for exactly that reason.

"Julian is a very important and powerful businessman as well as being involved in organized crime," the Mexican actor, currently in Miami promoting the film, said.

"His mother is not happy about the kind of life he leads and asks him to bring back alive his brother who is missing in action in Iraq," he said about the feature film that premieres in the United States next week.

In order to rescue his brother, Julian goes to his best friend Carmelo, played by Taracena, who helps him put a team together.

Despite the comic tone, the actors were aware that the film describes the situation of many Mexicans who emigrate to the United States to find a better life.

"The director (Beto Gomez) wanted to do this movie because he had some friends who ended up going to war in Iraq so they could become American citizens. Starting with that premise, he set out to make a film in which the Hispanic won out over all the obstacles," Taracena said.

About the comparison of his film with "Saving Private Ryan," Taracena said that "the patriotic motives in 'Saving Private Ryan' are substituted by maternal motives. In the former, the homeland calls for action. In mine, it's mom who asks for it. We Latinos know that a mother's voice is all-important," he said.
